"How do you guys remember all that stuff?"
- MICHAEL MANRING

"A Ghastly State Of Affairs highlights French TV’s unparalleled ability to weave intricate arrangements, ignite with blazing solos, and embark on unexpected musical tangents, all while skillfully narrating musical tales sans lyrics. …a masterful mix of progressive rock with symphonic and Canterbury airs; jazz fusion; and Rock-in-Opposition. As you would expect, French TV’s music teeters between uproarious whimsy and formidable complexity, carving out a niche as one of the United States’ most innovative progrock ensembles. With a discography spanning (16) albums and traversing continents with European and US tours, the band has firmly entrenched itself in the pantheon of progressive music."
- PROGRESSIVE ROCK CENTRAL

French TV, based out of Louisville, Kentucky, is a progressive band that has been in existence since 1983. Over the years, members have come and gone, but founder/ bassist/ main composer Mike Sary continues to drag the band into the next millennium. Musically, they have been compared to the best progressive bands of the ’70s: National Health, Soft Machine, Zappa, Bruford, Brand X, Happy the Man, and Samla Mammas Manna, among others. They have released 16 albums to date.

THE WORD

"Truly a majestic auditory journey, it still remains a mystery why French TV don't get more respect among fans of both old style 70s prog and fans of RIO/avant. They mesh both musical directions effortlessly and thus create a unique sound unlike anyone else. On top of that, the melodies and musical ideas are absolutely gorgeous, intricate and thought-provoking, tickling both the emotional and logical sides of your brain, which very few acts are able to do.!"
- THE ROCKTOLOGIST

"Challenging, expressive music is the name of the game here, and a fairly
complicated and quirky one at that, unconventional and adventurous throughout the album."
